SELVA MAR
Selva Mar is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom organic modern inspired home renovation. The clients desire was to create a space that felt contemporary, but still quite organic. Wood tones, tropical plants and textural elements were layered over a neutral palette to evoke this aesthetic. Tones of light sage and deeper green hues provide a connection to the forest and nature that the client craved. “Wood grain” porcelain tile and slat accent walls provide texture, pattern and dimension, making the space feel warm, cohesive and unpretentious. A place where the family can retreat to and still feel connected to the natural surroundings, living with a sense of minimalism and effortlessness.
Prior to the renovation, the home had some good features. Expansive floor to ceiling windows letting in abundant natural light, tall ceilings and an incredible location so close to the beach. However, the home was in poor condition and was feeling very dated. Traditional terracotta tile throughout, rustic dark cabinetry and low quality finishes weathered by the elements. We elected to gut the house removing all existing tile, cabinets, countertops, closets and even removed walls / relocated electrical and plumbing to create the desired layout and functionality. Everything you see in the home is new and lovingly crafted with functionality, longevity and of course aesthetics in mind.
